Kids’ Creative Imaginations

This is Buttercup. He is a German Shepherd who is retired from the army. He used to sniff our bombs and protect his team. Now Buttercup is retired, but he’s the head of the local dogs. Everyone thinks he tough, mean, and angry.

But what they don’t know is that Buttercup loves to cook. He’s afraid the dogs will find out and think he’s a wimp. The only other fear he has is cats!

His fear becomes real when his secret is revealed and he is caught in the kitchen. The dogs tease him, but guess who comes to his rescue–the town cat. Buttercup realizes that he has to be true to himself.

These are the adventures of Buttercup the Chef created by my newest group of writers. 16 third-fifth graders gathered today for my Creating Crafty Characters class at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library.

I love empowering them to think beyond what’s real and stretch their imaginations! They inspire me to create!
